Meet the New Atlanta Housing Authority President at the Atlanta Press Club

What

Eugene Jones, newly appointed president and executive director of the Atlanta Housing Authority, will speak at a Newsmaker luncheon on Tuesday, November 19 at The Commerce Club.

Jones was appointed by the Atlanta Housing Board of Commissioners on September 17 and began on October 7, replacing interim CEO Joy Fitzgerald, who temporarily took the helm of Atlanta Housing after Catherine Buell resigned in 2018.

Jones previously ran the Chicago Housing Authority for more than four years before resigning in August. Before Chicago, Jones had experience with housing in other major cities such as Detroit, Indianapolis, Kansas City, San Francisco and Toronto.

Dress at the Commerce Club is business attire.

The ticket price does not include parking. Parking is available in the 191 Building parking deck with entrances on Ellis Street and Peachtree Center Avenue. Discounted parking vouchers for this deck will be available for $15 at the event. Guests must bring the ticket they receive upon entering the deck to receive the discount. The Peachtree Center MARTA station is also conveniently located nearby.
